Kazan International Airport (IATA: KZN, ICAO: UWKD) is the primary commercial airport serving Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. It is one of the busiest airports in Russia outside Moscow and St. Petersburg, handling both domestic and international traffic. The airport was substantially reconstructed ahead of the 2013 Summer Universiade, which Kazan hosted, resulting in a modern terminal and expanded capacity. It has since served as an important hub for the Volga Federal District, connecting Kazan to dozens of Russian cities as well as international destinations. Ğabdulla Tuqay Kazan International Airport is an international airport in Russia, around 25 km southeast of Kazan. With 5.4 million passengers in 2025 it is the busiest airport in Tatarstan and Volga Federal District, as well as one of the busiest airports in Russia and the Post-Soviet States. In 2019 Airport was renamed to commemorate a Volga Tatar poet, critic, publisher, and towering figure of Tatar literature Ğabdulla Tuqay.
