Rossiya Airlines, officially known as Rossiya-Russian Airlines, is one of Russia's largest carriers and operates as a subsidiary of Aeroflot Group. The airline traces its roots to the Soviet-era Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise, which was based at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg and served as the civil aviation arm for the Leningrad region. Following a series of mergers and restructurings, Rossiya absorbed several regional Russian carriers including Donavia, Orenair, and Vladivostok Air, significantly expanding its route network and fleet. The airline primarily serves domestic Russian routes alongside a limited number of international destinations. As international sanctions and airspace restrictions were imposed on Russia following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Rossiya, like other Russian carriers, faced significant operational challenges including the loss of access to Western aircraft parts and leasing arrangements. The airline continues to operate primarily within Russia using its existing fleet.
