Cyprus Turkish Airlines was the flag carrier of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), operating scheduled and charter flights primarily between Northern Cyprus and Turkey. The airline served as a vital link for the Turkish Cypriot community, providing connections that were otherwise difficult due to the island's political division. The airline operated for several decades before ceasing operations, facing persistent challenges including international non-recognition of the TRNC, limited route options, and financial difficulties. Because Northern Cyprus is only recognized by Turkey, flights to and from Ercan Airport were restricted to routing through Turkish airspace. Cyprus Turkish Airlines was eventually dissolved, and its role was largely absorbed by other Turkish carriers such as AtlasJet and later Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines, which began offering flights to Ercan Airport to serve the Turkish Cypriot market.
