Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is Indonesia's primary international hub, located in Tangerang, Banten, approximately 20 kilometers northwest of central Jakarta. Named after Indonesia's first two presidents, Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta, it is the busiest airport in Indonesia and one of the busiest in Southeast Asia by passenger traffic. The airport was designed by French architect Paul Andreu and opened in 1985, replacing Kemayoran Airport as Jakarta's main commercial aviation hub. Its design incorporates tropical Javanese architectural elements, including lush gardens between terminals. In recent years, the airport has undergone significant expansion, including the opening of Terminal 3 Ultimate in 2016, which modernized capacity and services to accommodate growing passenger demand across the archipelago and internationally.
Terminals
The airport operates three main terminals — Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the expanded Terminal 3 — serving domestic and international flights across multiple concourses.

Ground transport options include the Railink Airport Train connecting to Sudirman and Manggarai stations, taxis, ride-hailing services, and express toll-road bus services into central Jakarta.
