Vietnam Airlines is the national flag carrier of Vietnam, operating scheduled domestic and international passenger and cargo services. Founded in 1956, it has grown into one of Southeast Asia's major airlines, serving destinations across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America. The airline is majority state-owned and is headquartered in Hanoi, operating out of its primary hubs at Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It became a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance in 2010. Vietnam Airlines has modernized its fleet significantly in recent decades, introducing wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350 to replace older models, improving fuel efficiency and passenger experience on long-haul routes.
