Tiger Airways was a Singapore-based low-cost carrier founded in 2003 and launched commercial operations in 2004. It operated as a budget airline serving destinations across Southeast Asia, Australia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region, focusing on affordable point-to-point travel. The airline was a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines and grew to operate multiple hubs and affiliated carriers across the region, including Tigerair Australia and Tigerair Taiwan. It rebranded from Tiger Airways to Tigerair in 2013 to reflect a more unified regional identity. In 2016, Tigerair Singapore was fully absorbed into Scoot, another Singapore Airlines low-cost subsidiary, and ceased independent operations. The merger created a stronger combined low-cost carrier under the Scoot brand, which continues to operate today.
