Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA/ZSSS) is one of two major airports serving Shanghai, China, situated approximately 13 kilometres west of the city centre in the Minhang and Changning districts. Originally opened in 1921, it is one of the oldest civil airports in China and served as Shanghai's primary international gateway for decades before Pudong International Airport opened in 1999.
