Location
Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Phnom Penh International Airport, also known as Pochentong Airport, is the primary international airport serving Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh. Located in the Pou Senchey district, it handles the majority of the country's international passenger traffic and serves as a hub for national carrier Cambodia Angkor Air. The airport underwent significant modernization and expansion in the 1990s and 2000s to accommodate growing regional travel demand. It connects Phnom Penh to major Asian hubs including Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Beijing, among others. A new international airport, Techo Phnom Penh International Airport, is under construction southeast of the city and is expected to eventually replace the current facility, which faces capacity constraints due to its urban location.
