Muscat International Airport (MCT/OOMS) is the largest and busiest airport in Oman, serving as the main hub for Oman Air and a key gateway to the Arabian Peninsula. Located in the Seeb district, approximately 32 kilometres west of Muscat's city centre, the airport underwent a major expansion project that saw a new passenger terminal open in 2018, significantly increasing its capacity. The new terminal, officially opened in March 2018, was designed to handle up to 20 million passengers annually, with future expansion phases planned to raise capacity further. The facility features modern amenities, advanced baggage handling systems, and improved airfield infrastructure to accommodate wide-body aircraft. The airport connects Oman to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa, playing a vital role in the country's tourism and trade ambitions under Oman Vision 2040.
