Sharjah International Airport is a major commercial airport serving the emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, located approximately 15 kilometres from Sharjah city centre and close to the border with Dubai. It serves as the primary hub for Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest low-cost carrier, launched in 2003. The airport handles tens of millions of passengers annually and offers scheduled and charter services to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Its proximity to Dubai makes it an alternative entry point for the broader Dubai–Sharjah metropolitan area.
