World's largest airport by land area in Saudi Arabia.

Opened
1999
Location
Ad Dammam, Saudi Arabia
King Fahd International Airport (DMM/OEDF) serves Ad Dammam and the broader Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, one of the country's most economically vital regions due to its oil industry. The airport opened in 1999 and was constructed on a vast tract of desert land covering approximately 776 square kilometers, making it the largest airport in the world by total land area. The airport is a major gateway for workers and travelers connected to Saudi Aramco and the petroleum sector, handling millions of passengers annually. It serves both domestic routes across Saudi Arabia and a wide range of international destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and beyond. Despite its enormous land footprint, passenger terminal capacity remains more modest relative to global mega-hubs, though ongoing development within Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 framework aims to expand aviation infrastructure across the kingdom.
Terminals
The airport features a single main passenger terminal complex designed to handle both international and domestic travelers.
Getting to & from
Ground transport options include taxis, private cars, and rental vehicles, with limited public transit connecting the airport to central Ad Dammam approximately 40 kilometers away.
