Kurumoch International Airport is the principal commercial airport serving Samara, a major industrial city on the Volga River in Russia. It is one of the largest airports in the Volga region and handles both domestic and international passenger traffic. The airport underwent significant modernization and expansion in the lead-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, as Samara was one of the host cities. A new terminal building was constructed to increase capacity and improve passenger experience. Kurumoch operates flights to major Russian cities including Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as international routes to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
