Paphos International Airport (IATA: PFO, ICAO: LCPH) is located approximately 6 kilometres southeast of Paphos city centre on the southwestern coast of Cyprus. It serves as a major entry point for tourists visiting the Paphos district, a UNESCO World Heritage area known for its ancient ruins, mosaics, and Mediterranean coastline. The airport underwent significant expansion and modernisation in the mid-2000s, with a new terminal opening in 2008 as part of a concession operated by Hermes Airports, which also manages Larnaca International Airport. The facility handles a substantial volume of charter and low-cost carrier traffic, particularly from the United Kingdom and other European markets. Although smaller than Larnaca, Paphos International Airport plays a vital role in Cyprus's tourism economy, especially during the peak summer season when passenger numbers increase considerably. It supports the western part of the island, reducing the need for travellers to transit through Larnaca.
