Luxembourg-Findel International Airport (LUX) is the only international airport in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, located approximately 6 kilometres east of Luxembourg City. It serves as the primary hub for Luxair, the national carrier, and is a major cargo hub for Cargolux, one of Europe's largest all-cargo airlines. The airport underwent significant modernisation and expansion in the 2000s, with a new passenger terminal opened in 2008 to handle growing traffic. Despite the small size of Luxembourg, Findel connects the country to numerous European and international destinations. Findel handles several million passengers annually and benefits from its strategic central European location, making it an important node for both passenger and freight traffic. Its cargo operations are particularly significant, with Cargolux operating a global network of freighter routes from the airport.
