The Canadair Regional Jet 900, commonly known as the CRJ900, is a stretched derivative of the CRJ700, developed by Bombardier Aerospace. It seats up to 90 passengers in a single-class configuration and entered service in 2003, filling a niche between smaller regional jets and larger narrow-body mainline aircraft. The CRJ900 features a longer fuselage than the CRJ700, with enhanced aerodynamics and more powerful General Electric CF34-8C5 engines. It is designed for short- to medium-haul regional routes, offering airlines flexibility and operational efficiency on thinner routes that cannot support larger aircraft. The type has proven popular with regional carriers operating on behalf of major hub airlines in the United States and Europe. Bombardier ceased production of the CRJ family in 2020 following the sale of the program to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which now handles support and maintenance.

The Bombardier CRJ700 series is a family of regional jet airliners that were designed and manufactured by Canadian transportation conglomerate Bombardier. Officially launched in 1997, the CRJ700 made its maiden flight on 27 May 1999 and was soon followed by the stretched CRJ900 variant. Several additional models were introduced, including the further elongated CRJ1000 and the CRJ550 and CRJ705, which were modified to comply with scope clauses. In 2020, the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation acquired the CRJ program and subsequently ended production of the aircraft.
