Formosa Airlines was a Taiwanese regional carrier that operated domestic and cross-strait charter services during the 1990s and early 2000s. The airline primarily served routes connecting Taiwan's main island with outlying islands and provided charter flights across the region. The airline faced significant operational and financial challenges during its history, including a fatal crash in 1998 near Penghu that resulted in the deaths of all on board. This accident, along with broader financial difficulties in the regional aviation market, contributed to the airline's eventual cessation of operations. Formosa Airlines is no longer in operation, having ceased services in the early 2000s.
