Sochi, Russia
Sochi International Airport (AER/URSS) serves the Black Sea resort city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, southern Russia. It is one of the busiest airports in Russia, handling millions of passengers annually, particularly during summer tourist season and winter ski seasons at nearby Krasnaya Polyana. The airport underwent a massive modernization and expansion in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games hosted in Sochi. New terminals, runways, and infrastructure were built or significantly upgraded to handle the surge in international and domestic traffic during the Games. Following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions, many international carriers suspended service to Russia, significantly reducing Sochi's international traffic. The airport now operates primarily on domestic Russian routes.
Terminals
The airport has two main passenger terminals — Terminal A for domestic flights and Terminal B, built for the 2014 Olympics, for international flights.
Getting to & from
The airport is connected to Sochi city center and the broader resort area via Aeroexpress train services, taxis, and bus routes.
Airlines here
Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda, Ural Airlines, and Azimuth Airlines are among the primary carriers operating at Sochi.
