Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is the flag carrier of Ukraine, founded in 1992 as a joint venture between the Ukrainian government and a consortium of Western investors. Operating under the IATA code PS and ICAO code AUI, the airline is headquartered in Kyiv and serves as the country's primary international carrier. UIA operates scheduled passenger and cargo services to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia, with its main hub at Boryspil International Airport. The airline has grown to become one of the largest carriers in Eastern Europe by passenger volume. Operations were severely disrupted following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which led to the closure of Ukrainian airspace.
