Milano Linate Airport is a major international airport serving Milan, Italy, located approximately 7 kilometres east of the city centre near the municipality of Segrate. It is one of two primary airports serving the Milan metropolitan area, alongside Milano Malpensa Airport, and handles a significant volume of short- and medium-haul European traffic. The airport has historically served as a hub for domestic and intra-European services, favoured for its proximity to Milan's business district. It underwent a major renovation and temporary closure in 2019, reopening in October of that year with modernised facilities. Linate is particularly popular with business travellers due to its central location relative to Milan's financial and fashion districts. The airport handles tens of millions of passengers in strong years, though capacity is intentionally limited compared to Malpensa.
