Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport is the main commercial airport serving Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province in eastern China. Located in the Licheng District approximately 33 kilometers north of the city center, it handles both domestic and international passenger and cargo traffic. The airport serves as an important hub for airlines connecting Jinan to major Chinese cities as well as regional international destinations across Asia. It has undergone significant expansion in recent decades to accommodate growing passenger volumes driven by Shandong's economic development. Jinan Yaoqiang handled tens of millions of passengers annually prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and traffic has since recovered substantially. A new terminal project has been part of long-term development plans to increase capacity and modernize facilities.
