St. Louis's primary international gateway serving the Midwest.

Opened
1920
Location
St. Louis, United States
St. Louis Lambert International Airport is the largest airport in Missouri and the primary commercial aviation hub serving the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Located approximately 14 miles northwest of downtown St. Louis, it handles millions of passengers annually across a range of domestic and select international routes. The airport has a long history in American aviation, having played a significant role in the early development of commercial and military flight. It is named after Albert Bond Lambert, a prominent aviator and aviation promoter who helped fund Charles Lindbergh's transatlantic flight preparation. Following the decline of its former hub status under TWA and later American Airlines, Lambert has repositioned itself as a connecting and origin-destination airport, with Southwest Airlines now serving as its largest carrier by departures.
Terminals
The airport has two terminal buildings, Terminal 1 (with concourses C and D served by an underground people mover) and Terminal 2, which primarily serves Southwest Airlines.
Getting to & from
MetroLink light rail connects the airport directly to downtown St. Louis and beyond, with additional access by taxi, rideshare, and rental car services.
Airlines here
Southwest Airlines is the dominant carrier at STL, with additional service from American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and several other carriers.
