Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS/MYNN) is the largest and busiest airport in the Bahamas, serving the capital city of Nassau on New Providence Island. It handles the vast majority of international visitors arriving in the Bahamas by air and is a critical hub for Caribbean travel. The airport was renamed in 2006 in honor of Sir Lynden Pindling, the first Prime Minister of the Bahamas, having previously been known as Nassau International Airport. A major redevelopment program completed around 2013 significantly modernized and expanded its facilities. Lynden Pindling International Airport, formerly known as Nassau International Airport, is the largest airport in the Bahamas and the largest international gateway into the country. It is a hub for Bahamasair, Western Air, Flamingo Air, Southern Air Charter and Pineapple Air. The airport is located in western New Providence island near the capital city of Nassau. The airport is named after Lynden Pindling, the first prime minister of the Bahamas.
