Kos International Airport 'Ippokratis' (IATA: KGS) serves Kos Island, one of the Dodecanese islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea, Greece. Named in honor of Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician widely regarded as the father of medicine, who was born on Kos around 460 BC, the airport is a vital link connecting the island to mainland Greece and international destinations. The airport handles significant seasonal traffic, primarily driven by tourism, with passenger numbers surging during the summer months. It accommodates both domestic flights to Athens and Thessaloniki and a large volume of international charter and scheduled flights from across Europe.
