Walvis Bay International Airport, also known as Rooikop Airport, is located approximately 14 kilometres east of Walvis Bay in Namibia. It serves as the primary airport for the Erongo Region, supporting both commercial passenger traffic and cargo operations linked to the busy port of Walvis Bay. The airport handles scheduled domestic flights to Windhoek as well as some regional connections, playing an important role in supporting the fishing, mining, and logistics industries centred around Walvis Bay. Its proximity to the Atlantic coast and the industrial port area makes it a strategically significant aviation hub in western Namibia. The airport has undergone infrastructure improvements in recent years to accommodate growing traffic, including upgrades to runway and terminal facilities to better serve both passengers and cargo operators.
