Roland Garros Airport (IATA: RUN, ICAO: FMEE) is the main international airport serving the French overseas department of Réunion, located near the commune of Sainte-Marie on the northern coast of the island. It is the busiest airport in the Indian Ocean region by passenger traffic and serves as the principal air link between Réunion and mainland France, as well as neighboring islands and destinations across the globe. The airport is named after Roland Garros, the pioneering French aviator and World War I fighter pilot who was born in Saint-Denis, Réunion, in 1888.
