Juneau International Airport (JNU/PAJN) serves as the primary commercial airport for Juneau, Alaska, the state capital. Situated between the Gastineau Channel and the steep slopes of Mount Juneau and Mount Roberts, the airport operates in one of the most challenging geographic and meteorological environments in North American aviation. Because Juneau has no road connections to the rest of Alaska or the contiguous United States, the airport is critically important to residents and government workers, making air travel the primary means of inter-city access.
