Embraer 195

The Embraer 195 is the largest member of Embraer's original E-Jet family, designed to serve short- to medium-haul routes with greater capacity than its E170 and E175 siblings. Seating up to around 122 passengers in a single-class configuration, it offers a 2-2 abreast seating layout that eliminates middle seats, appealing to passengers on thinner routes. Powered by CFM56-7B turbofan engines, the E195 entered service in 2006 and became a popular choice for carriers seeking to upgrade from turboprops or smaller regional jets without moving to much larger narrow-body aircraft. It competes closely with aircraft such as the Airbus A318 and Boeing 717. The E195 has been succeeded by the improved Embraer E195-E2, which features new Pratt & Whitney GTF engines and significant fuel efficiency improvements. The original E195 remains in widespread service globally across both full-service and low-cost carriers.
