Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport is the main commercial airport serving Tacloban City and the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. It is named after Daniel Z. Romualdez, a former Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives and relative of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. The airport gained international attention after Typhoon Hainan (locally known as Yolanda) devastated the region in November 2013, temporarily rendering the facility inoperable and turning it into a critical relief hub during recovery operations. The airport was subsequently repaired and modernized in the typhoon's aftermath. Operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the airport handles domestic flights connecting Tacloban to Manila and other key Philippine cities, serving as an important transport hub for the region.
