Venezuela's western gateway on the Colombian border.

Location
San Antonio del Táchira, Venezuela
Juan Vicente Gómez International Airport, coded SVZ/SVSA, serves San Antonio del Táchira in the Táchira state of western Venezuela. It sits near the Simón Bolívar International Bridge, which connects Venezuela to Cúcuta, Colombia, making it a key crossing point for both passengers and commerce in the Andean region. The airport is named after Juan Vicente Gómez, a Venezuelan military leader and president who ruled the country for much of the early twentieth century. Due to its border location, the airport has historically served cross-border travelers and regional domestic routes within Venezuela. In recent years, the airport's operations have been significantly affected by Venezuela's broader economic and political crises, including reduced airline services, border closures, and infrastructure challenges. Flight activity has been limited compared to its historical levels.
