Sioux Gateway Airport / Brigadier General Bud Day Field (SUX/KSUX) is a public use airport located in Sioux City, Iowa, serving the tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. It is owned and operated by the City of Sioux City and functions as both a commercial and military airfield, shared with the Iowa Air National Guard's 185th Air Refueling Wing. The airport is named in honor of Colonel George E. "Bud" Day, a Sioux City native, Medal of Honor recipient, and highly decorated U.S. Air Force officer and Vietnam War prisoner of war. Commercial service at SUX has historically been limited, with regional carriers providing connections to major hub airports. The airport has seen fluctuating airline service over the years, often served by regional partners of major U.S. carriers.
