Antonio Maceo International Airport is located approximately 8 kilometers south of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba's second-largest city. Named after Cuban independence hero Antonio Maceo, the airport serves as the primary gateway to the eastern region of the island.
The airport handles both domestic routes connecting Santiago to Havana and other Cuban cities, as well as international flights primarily from the Caribbean, Europe, and Canada. It plays a significant role in supporting tourism to the historically rich Santiago de Cuba region.
