La Tontouta International Airport (IATA: NOU, ICAO: NWWW) is the principal international airport serving New Caledonia, a French special collectivity in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. Located approximately 50 kilometres northwest of Nouméa near the town of La Tontouta, it handles the vast majority of the territory's international passenger and cargo traffic. The airport is operated by Aéroport International de la Tontouta and serves as the primary hub for regional carrier Air Calédonie International (Aircalin). International connections link Nouméa to destinations including Sydney, Tokyo, Auckland, and Paris via connecting flights, making it a key node in Pacific aviation. A significant terminal modernisation and expansion project was completed in the 2010s, substantially increasing capacity and improving passenger facilities to meet growing tourism demand in New Caledonia.
