Historic dual-use airport serving Nagoya's domestic needs.

Opened
1944
Location
Komaki, Japan
Nagoya Airport, also known as Komaki Airport, is a dual-use civil and military airfield located in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture, just north of central Nagoya. It shares its runways and facilities with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Komaki Air Base, making it one of Japan's notable joint-use airports. The airport served as the primary commercial gateway for the Nagoya region until Chubu Centrair International Airport opened in 2005 on an artificial island in Ise Bay. Following Centrair's opening, most international and major domestic flights shifted there, leaving Nagoya Airport to primarily handle domestic regional services and JASDF operations. Today, the airport is served mainly by FDA (Fuji Dream Airlines) operating regional routes within Japan. The site also hosts the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation facility and aerospace-related industries, reflecting the area's strong aviation manufacturing heritage.
Terminals
The airport has a single passenger terminal handling domestic regional flights following the transition of major operations to Chubu Centrair International Airport.
Getting to & from
The airport is accessible by bus services connecting to Nagoya city center and nearby rail stations, with no direct rail link to the terminal.
