Misawa Airport, designated IATA code MSJ and ICAO code RJSM, is a dual-use facility located in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture, in the northern Tōhoku region of Japan. The airport shares its runways and infrastructure with Misawa Air Base, a major installation jointly operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and the United States Air Force (USAF) 35th Fighter Wing. Civilian air services are relatively limited, primarily connecting Misawa to major Japanese hubs such as Tokyo Haneda. The airport plays a strategically significant role in Japan's defense posture, given its location close to the northern extremity of Honshu.
