Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) is a modern regional airport serving the Panama City Beach area on Florida's Emerald Coast. It opened in 2010 as a replacement for the older Panama City–Bay County International Airport, offering improved facilities and a longer runway capable of accommodating larger commercial aircraft. The airport serves primarily leisure travelers heading to the beaches of the Florida Panhandle and sees significant seasonal traffic during spring break and summer months. It is one of the newer commercial airports in the United States and was largely funded through a public-private partnership. ECP handles hundreds of thousands of passengers annually and connects the region to major hubs across the eastern and central United States. Its modern terminal design and expanded apron area allow it to accommodate a variety of airlines and aircraft types.
