Saratov Aviation Division (SAD) was a Russian regional airline headquartered in Saratov, Russia. It operated scheduled and charter passenger services primarily on domestic Russian routes, serving smaller cities and regional destinations. The airline gained tragic international attention on February 11, 2018, when Saratov Airlines Flight 703, an Antonov An-148, crashed shortly after takeoff from Domodedovo Airport in Moscow, killing all 71 people on board. Investigators determined that pitot tube heaters had been switched off, leading to erroneous airspeed readings. Following the crash, Russian aviation authorities revoked Saratov Airlines' operating certificate in March 2018, citing numerous safety violations. The airline ceased operations entirely as a result of these regulatory actions.
