Air Burkina is the national carrier of Burkina Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa. Founded in 1967, the airline has served as a vital link between Ouagadougou and regional destinations across West and Central Africa, as well as select European routes. The airline has undergone several ownership changes over the decades, including a period of privatization when the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) held a majority stake. Air Burkina operates primarily out of Ouagadougou International Airport and has historically connected the country to cities such as Abidjan, Dakar, Bamako, Niamey, and Cotonou, playing an essential role in regional connectivity for a country with limited surface transport infrastructure.
