Air Transat is a Canadian leisure airline headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, and is one of the largest holiday carriers in Canada. Founded in 1986, the airline operates seasonal and year-round flights to sun destinations, Europe, and other leisure markets, serving millions of passengers annually. The airline is a subsidiary of Transat A.T. Inc., a major integrated tourism company that also offers vacation packages, hotel stays, and travel services. Air Transat is particularly known for its transatlantic routes connecting Canada to numerous European destinations, especially in the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, and Greece. In 2021, Air Canada attempted to acquire Transat A.T. Inc., but the deal was ultimately abandoned.
