Air Europe was an Italian charter airline that operated leisure and package-holiday flights primarily for tour operators. It was part of the broader Air Europe group, which had sister operations in the United Kingdom and Spain, and served as a significant player in the Italian holiday travel market during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The airline operated scheduled and charter services connecting Italian cities with popular leisure destinations across Europe, North Africa, and beyond. It built a reputation for serving the package-holiday segment in partnership with major Italian tour operators. Air Europe Italy ceased operations in 1991 following the collapse of the International Leisure Group (ILG), the parent organization that also controlled Air Europe UK. The airline's demise left thousands of passengers stranded and marked a significant disruption to the Italian charter aviation market.
