The Beechcraft 1900 is a 19-passenger regional turboprop airliner developed by Beechcraft (formerly Beech Aircraft Corporation) and first flown in 1982. Designed to serve thin regional routes, it became a workhorse for commuter airlines throughout North America and worldwide, offering reliable performance from short, often unpaved airstrips. The aircraft evolved through several variants, most notably the 1900C (cargo door equipped) and the 1900D, which introduced a stand-up cabin and winglets for improved performance and passenger comfort. The 1900D remains the definitive production version and is widely regarded as one of the most successful 19-seat turboprops ever built. Production of the 1900 concluded in 2002 after more than 690 aircraft were delivered. Despite being out of production, the type remains in widespread service globally, operated by regional carriers, charter companies, and military operators across dozens of countries.
