BAe 146-300

The BAe 146-300 is the longest variant of the BAe 146 family, developed by British Aerospace and first entering service in the late 1980s. It features a stretched fuselage compared to the -100 and -200 variants, accommodating more passengers while retaining the type's signature four-engine layout and high-wing configuration. The aircraft was designed for short-to-medium haul operations and became particularly valued for its ability to operate from noise-sensitive and short or challenging airfields. Its four Avco Lycoming ALF 502R turbofan engines, each producing relatively modest thrust, contribute to its notably quiet cabin and community noise profile. The 146-300 and its successor, the Avro RJ100, served with numerous regional and charter carriers worldwide. While largely retired from major airline fleets, some examples remain in service with smaller operators and in cargo or special missions roles.
