Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, designated WSI/YSWS, is a major new airport under construction at Badgerys Creek in Western Sydney, Australia. It is being developed by the Australian federal government through Western Sydney Airport (WSA Co) and is intended to relieve congestion at Kingsford Smith Airport.
Named in honour of pioneering Australian aviator Nancy-Bird Walton, the airport is planned to serve the rapidly growing Western Sydney region. It is being built on approximately 1,780 hectares of land and is designed to ultimately handle tens of millions of passengers per year.
The airport is expected to open for passenger operations in 2026, initially with one runway and a single terminal. It represents one of the largest infrastructure investments in Australian history.

The airport is planned to open with a single integrated terminal capable of handling both domestic and international passengers from its first day of operations.
Getting to & from
A dedicated rail link connecting the airport to the Sydney metropolitan rail network is planned, along with road connections via the Western Sydney Aerotropolis precinct.
