Wonju Airport, also known as Hoengseong Air Base with the military designations K-38 and K-46, is a joint-use facility serving both the Republic of Korea Air Force and limited civilian commercial operations. It is located in Hoengseong County near the city of Wonju in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The airport has historically served as an important military installation, and its civilian terminal handles a relatively small volume of passenger traffic connecting the region to domestic destinations. Due to the growth of high-speed rail (KTX) connectivity in the Gangwon region, civilian air traffic at Wonju has remained limited. With the opening of Wonju-Gangneung KTX rail service and proximity to other transport options, Wonju Airport's civilian role has diminished over time, though it continues to function as an active military air base for the South Korean Air Force.
