La Orchila Airport (ICAO: SVLO) is a military airfield located on Isla La Orchila, a small Venezuelan island in the Caribbean Sea approximately 200 kilometers northeast of Caracas. The island is administered by the Venezuelan Navy and access is strictly controlled by the military. The airstrip serves primarily Venezuelan armed forces operations and has historically been used as a retreat location for high-ranking Venezuelan government officials, including former President Hugo Chávez. Civilian access to the island and its airport is not permitted without explicit military authorization. The airport has no commercial airline service and does not function as a public aviation facility. It exists solely to support military logistics and government operations on the restricted island.
