Spirit of St. Louis Airport (SUS) is a public general aviation airport located in Chesterfield, Missouri, in the western suburbs of St. Louis. It is owned and operated by St. Louis County and serves as one of the busiest general aviation facilities in the region, accommodating private aircraft, corporate jets, charter flights, and flight training operations. The airport is named in honor of Charles Lindbergh's famous 1927 transatlantic flight, during which his aircraft, the Spirit of St. Louis, was partly financed by St. Louis businessmen. While it does not offer scheduled commercial airline service, it plays an important role in regional business aviation and serves numerous flight schools and fixed-base operators (FBOs). The facility features multiple runways capable of handling a wide range of aircraft, and its location in Chesterfield makes it convenient for corporate travelers and private pilots in the western St. Louis metropolitan area.
