Paapiu Novo Airport (ICAO: SJMD) is a small general aviation airstrip located near Iracema in the state of Roraima, northern Brazil. It serves the Yanomami indigenous territory, one of the largest indigenous reserves in the world, providing essential air access to communities that would otherwise be almost entirely isolated from the outside world. The airstrip supports humanitarian, medical, and governmental missions, including operations by FUNAI (Brazil's National Indian Foundation) and health agencies delivering services to remote Yanomami villages. Given the dense Amazon rainforest terrain, air transport is effectively the only reliable means of reaching these communities.
