The airport is owned by the City of New Richmond and operated by a seven member airport commission. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2025–2029, in which it is categorized as a regional general aviation facility. The State of Wisconsin classifies the airport as a large general aviation airport in the State Airport System Plan 2030.
