Iruma Air Base (ICAO: RJTJ) is a major installation of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) located in Sayama, Saitama Prefecture, near Tokyo. It serves as the headquarters of the Air Defense Command and hosts several key JASDF units, making it one of the most important military air facilities in Japan. The base is not open to commercial or general aviation traffic, but it is well known to the public for its annual Iruma Air Show, one of the largest and most popular airshows in Japan, which typically draws hundreds of thousands of visitors. The event features aerial demonstrations by the JASDF Blue Impulse aerobatic team and static displays of military aircraft.
