Tyndall Air Force Base is a United States Air Force installation located near Panama City in Bay County, Florida. It serves as the home of the 325th Fighter Wing and is a major training center for F-22 Raptor pilots and associated air defense personnel. In October 2018, Hurricane Michael, a Category 5 storm, caused catastrophic damage to the base, destroying or severely damaging a significant portion of its aircraft, structures, and infrastructure. A large-scale rebuilding effort was subsequently launched, with plans to modernize the base and incorporate advanced facilities and technologies. The base's IATA code PAM and ICAO code KPAM are used primarily for military aviation purposes. Tyndall does not serve commercial airline passengers and operates strictly as a military airfield.
