London Oxford Airport, officially known as Oxford Airport, is a small regional airport located in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, approximately five miles north of Oxford city centre. It primarily serves general aviation, business aviation, and flight training operations rather than scheduled commercial airline services. The airport has a long history dating back to World War II, when it was used as a Royal Air Force base known as RAF Kidlington. After the war it transitioned to civilian use and has since developed into a hub for private jets, charter flights, and aircraft maintenance. Oxford Aviation Academy, one of the world's largest commercial pilot training organisations, has historically been based at the airport, contributing significantly to flight training activity. The airport has undergone investment in recent years to attract low-cost and regional scheduled services alongside its established business aviation operations.
